excellent clarinetist who worked with some of the best vocalists. I'm quite fond of martha tilton myself, but helen ward, peggy lee, and helen forrest aren't slouches either. I'd consider goodman fifth on my list of bandleader favorites—behind t. dorsey, j. dorsey, j. mercer, les brown.
